During President Trump’s State Visit, the UK announced a record £150 billion package of inward investment from US companies. The commitments are intended to spur jobs and growth across life sciences, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, AI and other high-tech sectors, aligning with the UK’s Modern Industrial Strategy.
Government estimates point to more than 7,600 high-quality jobs nationwide—not just London and the South East, but also Belfast, Glasgow, the Midlands and the North East—alongside major R&D and start-up support in biotech, AI and clean energy.
This is the largest investment package linked to a UK state visit, signalling strong US confidence in the UK’s policy direction and tech leadership. For businesses, it implies potential opportunities in supply chains, infrastructure, and innovation partnerships—especially in data infrastructure, life sciences, defence, and clean tech
